What Is Bridal Prep Photography?
Bridal prep is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph. It's where the excitement really starts to build as you get ready for one of the biggest moments of your life.
While the ceremony is often the main event, the morning preparations help tell the complete story of your wedding day. From the anticipation and laughter to the emotional moments shared with family and friends, bridal prep photography captures memories that might otherwise be forgotten.
What Does Bridal Prep Photography Include?
During bridal prep, I'll photograph all the little details that you've spent months planning, including:
- Your wedding dress beautifully displayed before you put it on
- Jewellery, perfume, shoes and other special accessories
- Final touches as you're getting ready and if there is a ringlight one of my signature photos!
- Portraits of you getting into your dress
- Portraits of you in your dress just before the ceremony
I'll also capture plenty of natural, candid moments between you and your bridal party. Whether that's laughter over a glass of prosecco, helping each other get ready, or simply enjoying the excitement of the morning.
If you prefer a more editorial style, we can also create some prompted photographs, such as:
- Bridal party photographs together on the bed
Your Children
Having your children part of your wedding day is so special as it is the final piece to your family story.
The Reveal
One of the most emotional parts of bridal prep is often the reveal.
This could be a first look with your dad, a special reveal with your bridesmaids, or both. These genuine reactions make for some of the most treasured photographs from the entire day.
What About Groom Prep?
Depending on timings and locations, groom prep can often be included too. If both preparations are happening close enough together, I may be able to cover both. Alternatively, a second photographer can be added to ensure both stories are captured from the start of the day.

Getting ready at your venue?
If you are getting ready at your venue I will get images of your ceremony dressed prior to the guests arriving.
